Induction Charging Dock for Wii™ Offers Convenience and Style

LOS ANGELES - November 24, 2009

Nyko Technologies, the leading videogame peripherals manufacturer, today announced that their new Charge Base IC for the Nintendo Wii™ has shipped to stores. Based on the popular, worldwide best-selling original Wii Charge Station, the Charge Base IC is Nyko’s newest controller charging dock for the Wii.

The Charge Base IC is Nyko’s first induction charging dock for the Wii. Instead of using metal contact points to recharge the Wii Remote or Wand’s batteries, the Charge Base IC utilizes induction technology to charge your controllers. The design of the Charge Base IC allows Wii Remotes or Wands to be charged without having to remove any silicone jackets or attachments such as Wii Motion Plus. The Charge Base IC utilizes powerful magnets to suspend each controller in the charging cradle, holding your controllers artfully in your entertainment center. The Charge Base IC also features a powered USB port which can be used for charging other devices.

“Since the Wii launched our charging docks for Wii controllers have been our most popular items among consumers,” said Chris Arbogast, director of marketing at Nyko Technologies. “With the Charge Base IC’s induction technology and magnetic cradle we have improved upon our original model in order to offer the most convenient and stylish charging solution for the Wii.”

The Charge Base IC includes two magnetic battery covers that are compatible with the Wii Remote and Nyko Wand™, as well as two rechargeable battery packs.
